In Case You Missed It.....
On December 1, 2015, The McEachern Academic Council for Excellence hostedMr Andra Brantley Assistant Director of Admissions Georgia State University |
Here is What We Learned
- Major Colleges are looking for students who have the best chance to graduate
- College admissions are more competitive than ever
- Essays are good way to stand apart from the competitive field
- It is much better to apply to college early because financial aid goes quickly
- Colleges are looking at GPA, rigor of courses, leadership, teacher recommendations, test scores and grades as part of admissions
- Colleges look favorably on AP courses
- Some major colleges not longer offer remedial classes
- Core classes from community colleges can get help students to be better prepared for major colleges
We are looking forward to more McEachern Parents at our next meeting.
